VIDEO GAME DEVELOPMENT
Instead of going to college after high school graduation, I started working for a Microsoft contractor and have been employed in the tech industry ever since. My career progression has been: tech support, software testing, web development, game development.
While providing QA in the MS Action, Adventure & Strategy (AAS) Games department, I worked on several titles (lazily credited in some as "Recon Test Team"). Years later, I returned to the games industry after the dot com crash as a scripter for Zombie on Shadow Ops: Red Mercury. When the company ran into some financial troubles, I took the opportunity to spend time in the bay area as a scripter and technical designer on Tomb Raider: Legend for Crystal Dynamics (Eidos). Homesick, I came back afterwards to Seattle to do AI scripting and technical design for Snowblind Studios on Justice League Heroes. I am currently a backend web developer for PopCap Games, a casual games studio in Seattle.
The latest may seem out of place, but PopCap gave me an offer I could not turn down.
