Seattle's economy is fairly healthy, but the recent death of several dotcom businesses in the area have made high tech jobs much harder to come by.
Unless you have something set up already, please do not move to Seattle expecting to be able to find a tech job right away. There are tons of people here who have been jobless for months and not because they're not looking. The market is pretty brutal right now. Even devs have been snapping up less technical jobs due to the shortage of work.
